The StriperBowl is the greatest event in Striper Fishing Anywhere! Here's why:
The StriperBowl is a members only annual TSBA tournament. The StriperBowl is always held in April on Cherokee lake in east Tennessee. The winner of the StriperBowl gets a trophy that they get their name engraved on. They get to keep it until the next year, when they have to defend it. The first annual StriperBowl was held in 2000 and was won by David Osborne from Virginia. David returned in 2001 to seek a second year but was defeated by Pat Kneiss of Tennessee. In 2002 Pat Kneiss lost the title to Larry Atchley of Knoxville. Then in 2003 the cup was turned over once again when Robert Leach won the tournament. In 2004 the trophy was won by Toney Stevens. In 2005 the trophy goes back to Virginia with the winner Lisa Osborne. April 30, 2006 was a very blustery day with rain and high winds. That didn't stop the diehards who were after the StriperBowl Trophy this year. The man to beat was Dennis Bryant, Dennis did a great job of fish the terrible conditions to lay claim to the trophy in 2006, and give the coveted trophy a new home in New Tazewell Tn. All proceeds from the StriperBowl go toward prizes and trophies for the "Kids Fishing Day". Hope you'll fish one of the StriperBowls and join us for all the fun!
